About SIFE:

Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) founded in 1975, has grown to become one of the largest tertiary-based organizations in the world. SIFE teams are active in more than 40 countries around the world. You can always visit to find a complete list of the countries that operate a SIFE program as well as the institutions enrolled.

Working together as a team, and through the mentorship of a faculty advisor(s), SIFE students apply their classroom experiences to develop and implement educational outreach programs that teach individuals in their communities the principles of market economics, success skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, environmental sustainability and business ethics.

We at SIFE MCC see this as an opportunity to empower women, create awareness and educate them, targeting a community in a nearby village and connecting to them with the help of MCC Family Life Institute (FLI).

At present the tailoring unit in FLI provides courses for the unemployed women of Mappedu. Even after finishing the course most of them are either unemployed or produce cloths for self-consumption, resulting in a productive loss. Hence, SIFE  MCC aims to create a business model for the women community.
