Our Principal, Dr.R.W. Alexander Jesudasan, won the Best Principal Award 2012, instituted by the All Indian Association for Christian Higher Education, New Delhi and Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences. Justice M.S.A Siddiqui, Chairman, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, presented the award in recognition of his “academic leadership, administrative vision, for helping the progress of students and stakeholders and his commitment to professional ethics”
The English Association (TEA)
The English Association (TEA) of the Department of English released Eclectic Representations Vol. 2. Issue 1 [Peer-reviewed Biannual Journal] andCornucopia: Vol. 3 [Satura Lanx: Fruition of Artistic Dreams] on Wednesday, 29 August 2012 in the Anderson Hall. Mr. T. Radhakrishnan, IPS., Addl. Director General of Police, Chennai, Govt. of Tamil Nadu delivered the key-note address and released the Journal. Dr. S. Armstrong, Head, Department of English, University of Madras, Dr. R. W. Alexander Jesudasan, Principal, and Mr. C. Sundaraj, Bursar, were present at the occasion.
Alumni Carol Concert was held at Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School, Chetpet, Chennai on 12 & 13 December 2011.

The department of Political Science conducted its Christmas celebration program for the year 2011, at the St Thomas's Hall indoor auditorium on 8 November 2011.
Rev. C.S.E. Ross, Director, Institute for Advanced Christian Studies, MCC, was there to share the word of God and the students put on a fabulous performance of music and song.
Martin Hall, the first women's hall in Madras Christian College, celebrated its Christmas program, 'Star of the midnight' on 7 December 2011, at 6.00pm.
The former Martin Hall warden Mrs. Ida Singh was the chief guest. Dr.Vasanthi Vijayakumar, warden of Martin Hall welcomed the gathering. Dr.Franklin Daniel delivered the Christmas message and surprised everyone with a beautiful song.

The Department of Social Work (Self Financed Stream) is organizing ‘UDHAYAM 2011’, the annual fest of the department on the theme ‘Protect Children, Prevent child abuse, Protect child rights’ on 29 & 30 November 2011. Ms. A Glory Gunaseeli, Superintendent of Government Children’s Home was the Chief Guest.
Various inter-collegiate and school level competitions and events are organized as part of the event. This includes paper presentation, photography, street theatre, mime, debate, music, elocution, and essay writing.
The Principal, Dr. R. W. Alexander Jesudasan will be visiting Seoul, South Korea during the first week of December 2011. On 3 December 2011 he will stop over Malaysia to meet the alumni of Madras Christian College and on 4 December 2011 at Singapore. We welcome all alumni members to these gatherings.

The Principal, Dr. R. W. Alexander Jesudasan visited London and Dubai to have an interaction with the Alumni of Madras Christian College. In London, the meeting was held on 6 November 2011 and many of our distinguished alumni members were present on the occasion.
In Dubai, the Alumni meeting was held on 15 November 2011 at 08.00 pm at the Indian Sports Club. A large number of our Alumni members employed in the gulf region attended the meeting.
Dhanvantari Award for Dr. M. K. Mani
Dr. M.K. Mani, a distinguished alumnus of our college, is being awarded the Dhanvantari Award for medicine. He did physics and stayed in Selaiyur Hall.
In view of the forthcoming local body elections, October 19, 20, & 21 will be holidays. 22 October will be a working day with day order 5 and 24th October with day order 2. On 25 October hall tickets will be issued and study holidays begin on the same day. End of Semester exam begins on 31 October. The new semester will begin as scheduled on 18 November.
The Thamizh Peravai inaugural function was held in the Anderson Hall on 14 October 2011. Dr. T. Gnana Sundaram, former Professor of Tamil, Pachaiyappa's College, Chennai and Mr. Rajesh, the well known film actor were the guests.
Inter School Athletic Meet
Department of Physical Education & Health Sciences conducted the II PEDAHS Inter School Athletic Meet at the MCC sports grounds on 14 October 2011. Mr. A. Rajan, an international athlete and athletic coach of Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Chennai was the chief guest. The Principal, Dr. Alexander Jesudasan and the Bursar, Mr. C. Sundaraj were present at the occasion and distributed the prizes.
The campaign included Guest Lectures, Billboard Campaign, Photography Exhibition, Sapling Donation program, Play (Theater / Dramatics), Tree Walk, Documentary Screening, Puppetry and origami Workshops (For School students), Cycle Rally etc. more
Prof. ECG Sudarshan delivered the inaugural talk, “Beyond the light barrier”, at the ‘Apple Tree’ Lecture Series in Madras Christian College. The inter-collegiate lectures were arranged by the students of the Department of Physics in celebration of the 175th year of MCC. Several lectures by eminent Professors from IMSc, IIT and SRM Univeristy were scheduled over a period of two days.
